On July 1, 2008, Friedman, Cohen, Taubman & Company, LLC, CPA's of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA, welcomed Joel Galpern, CPA, and his practice into the Firm. Joel had been a sole practitioner in North Miami, Florida for over 25 years. Although he has a diverse client base serving all phases of small business needs, Joel has specialized in the real estate and mortgage industries. His bachelor's degree was earned at the University of Miami and his graduate degree in Science of Accounting was awarded from the University of Texas in 1972.

Joel hosted the TV talk show "Minding Your Own Business" on education cable for four years and solely-produced his 14-hour home study course "Business Basics – A Guide for Business". He has lectured for over 20 years in the areas of small business/entrepreneurship as well as real estate and mortgage brokerage.

Joel has served on the Board of Directors and/or Treasurer of the Greater North Miami Chamber of Commerce for 25 years and was honored as one of the only 7 honorary lifetime directors in the Chamber. In addition to being a lifelong sports enthusiast and having won numerous sporting awards, Joel and his wife are now taking ballroom dancing lessons.
